Passion for Painting is an Art School in Christchurch specialising in painting.

We welcome all – from beginners who want to learn to experienced painters who want to refine their skills.

Two fully qualified and experienced teachers work in each class, of up to 14 students, offering a skills and techniques based programme.

 We don’t follow traditional classroom teaching techniques where everyone learns the same thing, instead we make sure each student is given individual attention and training when they need it so our painters are in a classroom environment but are not competing with each other, they are learning at their own pace by their own choice.

The techniques to get different effects and the use of light and dark colours will help you to enjoy painting far into the future. Please have a look at the art from each level and see what levels our current artists enjoy creating.

Our school is a turn-of-the-century brick villa which has been carefully renovated to make the most of the high ceilings, three huge bay windows and lots of natural light. The neutral-coloured walls are hung with paintings in progress

We find that our painters really enjoy this relaxing space and it helps them to focus on learning about painting and creating some real masterpieces.
